A DARK DAY IN THE CITY BY THE BAY

A bag of death,
A meal box of disaster,
A pouch of callousness,
Reasons are many clues are none.

A leg apart,
A hand away,
A body drenched in blood,
This is the way the lifeless were carried away.

A weeping soul,
A yelling self,
A disgruntled survivor,
Narrate the tale of experiences aghast.

A politician comments,
A scion talks,
A ruler remarks,
We shall rise and conquer.

A day of harshness,
An evening of blackness,
Threatened by the lawless,
Battered is a city loveless.

A dream lies shattered,
A truth roams naked,
A desire remains half lived,
The peace shall never return.

A city loved by the world,
A destination revered by many,
A home cherished by millions,
Lies bruised, threatened and wounded.
